Changdeokgung Moon Trip starts in April


Seoul, Korea — The Changdeokgung Moon Trip, a historical tourism idea developed and trialed last year, will start this year.

The Changdeokgung Moon Trip, with beautiful scenery of the royal palace and quality historical contents, will take place eighteen times this year before and after the full moon from April until June and from September until October.

The two hour trip will be lead by a guide through the woodland paths of the Donhwamun, Jeanseonmun, Injeongjeon, Nakseonjae, Buyeongji, Yeongyeongdang, and Huwon to see the night view and the moonlight from the royal palace and traditional performances.

To increase the quality of the program, the lightings of the Huwon Puyongjon were improved and the dates were separated for foreigners and Koreans. Also the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation will in charge of the operation.

The number of participants will be limited to 120 people per trip for safety and protection of the cultural assets. Of the 120, twenty will be able to participate for free as underprivileged members and cultural artists.

Koreans can apply for the program through the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation homepage, Japanese tourists, through the KONEST Korea homepage, and westerners, Chinese, and Southeast Asian tourists, through their respective inbound travel agencies.

Other than during the regular Changdeokgung Moon Trips, the special products will be on sale for around ten times during this year.
